5/21/07 - Number of attacks in Iraq

5/06/07 - Bush says we're making progress in Iraq

4/28/07 - Donald Trump says Bush is the worst president in U.S. history because "everything is a lie, it's all a big lie."

4/25/07 - U.S. household income has declined 2.8% since 1999

4/12/07 - Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis protested the U.S. occupation of Iraq yesterday. Listen to the mp3 file of one protester by clicking here.

3/24/07 - The military says "al-Qaeda in Iraq" is not a big threat to the U.S. homeland, so why are the troops in Iraq? America's top intelligence official said it's "unlikely" that "al-Qaeda in Iraq" would follow U.S. troops back to America once the military withdraws from the country.

In 2006, the top general at CENTCOM, John Abizaid, said “al Qaeda in particular, in Iraq, is not popular. I don‘t believe that it can become mainstream there.” Lt. Gen. Michael Maples, director of the Pentagon's Defense Intelligence Agency, said “attacks by terrorist groups like Al Qaeda in Iraq account for only a fraction of the insurgent violence.”

In a Nov. 28, 2006, broadcast by NBC News, The U.S. military confirmed "al-Qaeda" represents only 2% of insurgents in Iraq. See video of the broadcast here.

POLL: Only 18% of Iraqis blame al-Qaeda for the violence while 44% blame Bush and the U.S. military. See this link.

So, why are American troops playing referee in Iraq's civil war?

2/12/07 - The military general who was Ronald Reagan's national security advisor has called for Bush to "cut and run" (his words) from Iraq. And in today's Washington Post, he denounces Bush's "relentless pursuit of defeat" in Iraq. It's time to withdraw all U.S. troops immediately.

1/26/07 - Two charts below illustrate how tax cuts, not government expenditures, are the primary cause of skyrocketing federal debt:

Federal spending -- as a percentage of GDP -- has gone down since 1980, as this chart shows...

Although federal spending has gone down since 1980, notice that the federal debt -- as a percentage of GDP -- has increased dramatically since then....

CONCLUSION: Tax cuts for the rich, not government expenditures, are the primary cause of skyrocketing federal debt.

10/13/06 - The head of Britain's army said: “We must quit Iraq soon” because Bush's coalition “exacerbates the security problems" in Iraq. Read his comments at this link.

9/13/06 - Iraq defeated Bush. A top military officer in Western Iraq said, "we have been defeated politically -- and that's where wars are won and lost." More at this link.

So, it's OVER! When will the politicians finally accept this reality and stop throwing American troops into the Iraqi hell hole?

8/27/06 - No president has seen higher gas prices than President Bush. Gas prices are even higher than the Jimmy Carter era! Will the MSM report this fact? Get the full story at this link.

8/26/06 - Dear Wall Street Journal Editor:

Your Aug. 26 editorial claimed child poverty among African-Americans had declined because of welfare reform enacted in 1996. But, according to U.S. government census data, the poverty rate among African-Americans under 18 began decreasing in 1992 and continued to do so until 2002, midway through President Bush's first term. The poverty rate among all African Americans had also been declining since 1992, long before the 1996 welfare reform bill was passed. Your editorial failed to mention that most people on welfare are caucasian, not African-American. If the 1996 welfare "reform" bill was so successful, how come the overall poverty rate of 12.7% in 2004 is virtually the same as the rate in 1989 (12.8%), 1980 (13.0%), and 1970 (12.6%)?

The last big drop in poverty rates occurred during Lyndon Johnson's presidency, thanks to his Great Society programs which reduced the poverty rate by nearly 50 percent. During those years, the poverty rate fell from 23% in 1959 to 13% in 1969. See the chart at this link for proof....

7/28/06 - Moments after decrying U.S. failure to "blow the hell out of" Fallujah, Republican nutcase Bill O'Reilly denounced "macho" approaches to the war, and said, "I'm an intellectual." Check it out here. This guy is seriously deranged, folks.

7/21/06 - The forgotten Bush war: "Afghanistan close to anarchy, warns general". The most senior British military commander in Afghanistan today described the situation in the country as "close to anarchy" with feuding foreign agencies and unethical private security companies compounding problems caused by local corruption. Read the article here.

7/18/06 - "The Failed Presidency of George W. Bush" (in book stores soon). Okay, I'm kidding about the "book stores" thing, but somebody is going to author this GLORIOUS book!

For example: Bush let Osama bin Laden escape.

Richard Clarke of the president's National Security Council said: “Gen. Franks and the president can deny it until the cows come home, but they made a mistake. They did let him [Osama] go away."

CIA analyst for the Middle East, Michael Scheuer, said: “The [Afghan] people we bought, the people Mr. Tenet said we would own, let Osama bin Laden escape from Tora Bora in eastern Afghanistan into Pakistan.”

Gary Bernsten, the CIA official in Afghanistan in 2001, said the Bush administration ignored his repeated requests to send ground forces in the hunt for Osama. He said, “I had meetings with the military on the ground there [in Afghanistan]. First we drafted a document which indicated what sort of offensive operations we were taking, where we were going to conduct in Tora Bora. I presented those to the senior officer in the country, who had no interest in looking at it, which sort of surprised me .... I specifically requested to him that we needed to put [in] ground forces. More than once I stated that, and I wrote it, and I documented my requests back to my organization. History will vindicate me if anyone says I'm not telling the truth. Eventually these things will be declassified. They can see the nature of my requests and the dates on those requests, so I'm confident.”

7/16/06 - Hundreds of prominent Jews comment on Israel's recent actions in the Middle East by asking, "What is Israel doing? A call by Jews in Britain."

Read the BBC's coverage of Jews for Justice for Palestinians

7/15/06 - Stop the Presses! Wall Street Journal Flip-Flops on Iraq!

After spending years blasting the idea that the U.S. is “bogged down” in Iraq, the Wall Street Journal editorial page did just that -- saying that the Israel-Lebanon situation stems from a worldwide perception that America is so “bogged down” in Iraq that it can’t flex any muscle in the Middle East. Read full story here.

    HAD ENOUGH OF BUSH FAILURE?

The Great American WMD Hoax of 2003

Colin Powell's chief of staff admitted that the weapons of mass destruction were a “hoax” perpetrated by Bush cronies. He said, “I participated in a hoax on the American people.”

Another former Bush official said, “intelligence was misused publicly to justify decisions.”

Colin Powell on Feb. 24, 2001 said: "He [Saddam] has not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction." See this link for proof.

On May 15 2001, Powell went further and said that Saddam Hussein had not been able to "build his military back up or to develop weapons of mass destruction" for "the last 10 years". America, he said, had been successful in keeping him "in a box". Two months later, Condoleezza Rice also described a weak, divided and militarily defenseless Iraq. "Saddam does not control the northern part of the country," she said. "We are able to keep his arms from him. His military forces have not been rebuilt."

That same month, a CIA report stated: ‘We do not have any direct evidence that Iraq has used the period since Desert Fox to reconstitute its weapons of mass destruction programmes.’

    THE GLORIOUS REPUBLICAN MELTDOWN!

Conservative talk show host and former congressman Joe Scarborough said, “I'm embarrassed right now to be a Republican.”

Conservative commentator William Kristol said, "Iraq isn't getting better, and Afghanistan is getting worse."

Conservative New York Times columnist David Brooks said, "For a movement that is supposed to be winning the battle of ideas, conservatives are in a mess...." He also said the Republican Party "attracts sleazeballs."

Republican Senator Chuck Hagel said, “The reality is that we're losing in Iraq.”

Conservative columnist William F. Buckley said, “One can't doubt that the American objective in Iraq has failed.”

Conservative columnist George Will said Iraq, Iran and North Korea are more dangerous today than in 2002.

Republican Senator John McCain said, “We all know the polls show declining support [for the war] among the American people."

John Brumes, Infantry Sgt. US Army, said, “Everything that the Bush Adminstration told us about that mission in Iraq is absolutely incorrect.”

Garin Reppenhagen, who served as a sniper in Iraq for a year in the First Infantry Division, said, “A lot of soldiers are debating whether this war was fraudulent to begin with.”

United States General Barry McCaffrey said: “This thing, the wheels are coming off it. The American people are walking away from this war.”

“From our perspective, we don't see much as far as gains,” said Marine Cpl. Bradley Warren. “We're looking at small-picture stuff, not many gains.”

British special forces soldier, Ben Griffin, said America engages in “illegal” tactics in Iraq and that U.S. troops view all Iraqis as "untermenschen" - the Nazi term for races regarded as sub-human.

The top U.S. general in Iraq said the military is “stretched” in Iraq because Republicans have stopped enlisting.

Bill O’Reilly said: “Fox News correspondents tell me they can't go out for a cup of coffee in the capital city because it's too dangerous. That's brutal. Based on that scenario, the war is not being won.”

O'Reilly also suggested that the United States "hand over everything to the Iraqis as fast as humanly possible" because "[t]here are so many nuts in the country -- so many crazies -- that we can't control them."

On the war on terror, Bush said: “I don't think you can win it.”

“We can't kill them all,” Lt. Col. Frederick P. Wellman said. “When I kill one I create three.”

Paul Roberts (assistant Sec of Treasury under Reagan) said that the Iraq policy was Deranged, Disconnected and Dangerous.

Reagan's Navy secretary, James Webb, denounced Republicans for their “failure to support those who have served.” He said, “Military people past and present have good reason to wonder if the current administration truly values their service.”

“The people of England have been led in Mesopotamia (Iraq) into a trap from which it will be hard to escape with dignity and honour. They have been tricked into it by a steady withholding of information. The Baghdad communiques are belated, insincere, incomplete. Things have been far worse than we have been told, our administration more bloody and inefficient than the public knows. It is a disgrace to our imperial record, and may soon be too inflamed for any ordinary cure. We are today not far from a disaster.” -- Lt. Col. T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) in his article published in the Sunday Times (London), Aug. 22, 1920
